Metropolitan Roof Repairs

Metropolitan Roof Repairs is a roofing contractor based in Kew, Melbourne. The company was established in 1999 by Steve and Tom and is family-run, coming from a trade background of three generations. It has 30 years of experience in the roofing industry. Steve is the owner and a qualified roof tiler. Metropolitan Roof Repairs is recognised and accredited by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) and is fully licensed and insured. All work comes with a 10 year guarantee.

The company specialises in heritage roof repairs and restoration, including slate roofs and terracotta tiles, and offers contactless inspections. It sponsors the Aust Police Football Association & Journal, Australian Paramedic Journal, The National Firefighter Magazine, and ANZSEBP Police Science Journal. Main services include roof repairs, roof leak repairs, roof replacement, roof carpentry, roof valley repairs, roof repointing, heritage roof repairs and restoration, and emergency roof repairs.

Households undertaking major roof replacements form the bulk of the accounts, with reviewers describing full re-roofing projects in slate, terracotta and Colorbond across Kew, Toorak and surrounding districts. Tom is named again and again for his advice and responsiveness, and more than one customer describes receiving daily updates and photographs as the work progressed. Reviews regularly refer to that the team handles carpentry, plumbing and painting in-house rather than subcontracting, which allows rotten fascia, structural beams, insulation, guttering, downpipes and flashings to be addressed within the same job.

Punctuality comes up often, as does the speed of the response when a leak needs attention. Tidiness after completion is a recurring theme, with sites left cleaned and debris removed. Customers comment on fair pricing compared with other quotes, and on the confidence that a warranty gives them long after the scaffolding comes down. Heritage terracotta and slate restoration features in a number of accounts, alongside the installation of gutter guards and new guttering. The result is described as professional, approachable and easy to deal with from the first call through to the final inspection.
