MJS Building Solutions

MJS Building Solutions Pty Ltd is a small local family company based in Cairns. Martyn is the leading builder and director of MJS, and he has over 20 years of building industry experience across New Zealand and Australia. The company specialises in all aspects of roofing, including complete re-roofing, re-screws, cyclone upgrades, general roof repairs, and guttering replacements.

It also offers retaining wall construction, fencing, and pressure washing of driveways and paths. The company owns its own equipment, including a digger and scissor lift. It serves the local Cairns region from Palm Cove to Innisfail, and deals directly with body corporate managers, homeowners, and landlords.

Cairns homeowners repeatedly mention Martyn, also known as Marty, as the central figure behind MJS Building Solutions, and recall his professionalism, reliability and readiness to explain what work is needed. Several customers describe his willingness to take on unusual requests, including sourcing alternative fencing materials when other trades declined, and note that quotes came across as reasonable. Roof replacement and the replacement of roof screws are among the jobs reviewers highlight, with confidence expressed that leaks would not return during the wet season.

Reviewers also mention full bathroom renovations, bathroom extensions, kitchen installations, shed builds, concrete pathways and repairs to an exterior bedroom wall, along with gutter cleaning, pressure washing and general property maintenance. Praise is consistent for workmanship, communication before and during a project, and the tidy state in which sites were left, including one account of a team noticing and fixing an extra issue without being asked. Customers describe the group as friendly, enthusiastic, quick and efficient, and note that the team made time for them and delivered each job to a high standard from start to finish.
