Downs Roofing

Downs Roofing is a roofing contractor based in Toowoomba, founded by Philip Box in 1982 and established as a family business a year later. It is family owned and has been passed down for two generations; Sam Box, one of Philip Box's three sons, continued in the roofing industry and carried on the business after Philip retired. Sam Box is a qualified tradesman. Downs Roofing is a certified member of the Metal Roofing Industry Association of Queensland and a member of Master Builders Australia.

The business has serviced the Darling Downs for nearly 40 years. It manufactures its own gutters and flashings, is the sole manufacturer of the traditional OG guttering style in Queensland, and manufactures quad gutter and distributes both gutter styles across Australia. It supplies and installs roofing, gutters and ventilation products for residential and commercial clients.

The installation and delivery process at Downs Roofing in Toowoomba draws on a roofing supply store operation, and the feedback describes rapid metalwork. One account highlights a flashing machine run by a skilled professional, noted as the fastest of its kind in Queensland, which also produces colorbond gutters in large runs.

The capability to form gutters and flashing to length rather than sourcing them elsewhere comes through as a practical strength for roofing work. A customer names Zac Wilson as a favourite member of the team, indicating that the service is remembered for its people. The comments centre on fabrication speed, colorbond materials and hands-on skill.
