I can say Look Up Roof Restoration is an honest family roofing business. They did quality work restoring the roof more than a year ago. Then we had a period of heavy rain this year and there was a leak. They came and fixed that and I was willing to pay for the repairs but they didn't charge for it.

Recommended! A good quality family business. Next: - the detail, if you want it: 1st – the saga. When our house was half-built in 1986, the builder went bust, and to complete the house the Insolvency Accountant brought in cheapo tradies, who did poor workmanship on the gutters and downpipes. 2nd, when the house was about 20 years old, and the concrete tiles had begun to grow artistic lichens (which would have made them porous, eventually) a company came around offering re-sealing and a ‘Lifetime guarantee’. “It seemed like a good idea at the time.” The Lifetime guarantee turned into ‘firm gone bust’ a few years later, just as the shortcomings of that resealing job became evident. Our current job: reseal roof, replace fascia boards and guttering, and down-pipes, eliminating the blockage points (45 degree angles only). I got several quotes, some of which were exorbitant, and avoiding quotes from the inheritors of the fly-by-night roof-resealers now doing the rounds. I got a good vibe from this family business, Kevin-the-dad, when he did the quote. And then? we had a series of medical and other emergencies over several months. Detailed points positive follow: Kevin renewed the quote at same price. When his sons showed up to strip the roof, it was worse than they’d realised: “The last lot didn’t put primer down, we’ll have to peel all their paint off”. They cleaned it off anyway, a quarter-day job taking a full day. The solution (clever, cheaper) of covering the existing fascia boards with Colourbond, they added to with a once-only opportunity to add termite powder. (We found the very beginnings of an apparent termite infestation the week they were due to start; then – professionalism and curiosity – later, Daniel ID’d that the infestation was only a carpenter ants’ nest – undesirable but not catastrophic.) The gutters, installed, are straight, and have that tiny 1% slope towards the rainwater tank. We won’t see gutters overflow at every cloudburst. The downpipes are set up with 45 degree bends, enabling cleaning of leaf-litter. (A neighbour also has large trees.) The resealing is ‘the real deal’ with the primer coat followed by a second detailing, prior to final coat. The new gutters are ‘bottom supported’, a clean run for both water and cleaning leaf-litter; theoretically easy-cleanable by a leaf-blower and attachment from the ground. Between price, attention to detail, and quality of work, we couldn’t be happier.

Kevin, Daniel and Nathan did a great job on my place replacing my gutters downpipes and minor roof repairs. Job delivered on time as scheduled. Highly recommend their work, professionalism and cleanup onsite at the end of each day.
