Darren Smith Roofing

Darren Smith Roofing is a roofing contractor based in Newcastle, serving the city and its surrounding suburbs since 1997. The company was founded by Andy, and Darren joined at 16 as a second-generation roofer. The team has over 80 years of combined roofing experience and is fully licensed and safety-focused, particularly for asbestos removal.

It supplies its own safety equipment and scaffolding. The company is a licensed contractor (Licenced Contractors No.203591C). It specialises in new roof builds, roof replacements, Colorbond metal roofing, guttering, downpipes and asbestos removal.

Homeowners needing roof replacement and asbestos removal form the bulk of the projects described in feedback for this Newcastle operation. More than one customer describes full roof replacements completed in a single day, with concrete tiles swapped for Colorbond and new fascia and guttering installed alongside. Reviews regularly refer to the speed of the work, often noting that jobs were finished quickly even in hot conditions. One thing mentioned again and again is how responsive and communicative the team proved, with updates provided as the work progressed and phone calls answered promptly.

Tidiness on site draws consistent praise, with debris cleared and the finished roof described as looking sharp. Darren and Ryan are named favourably, and the manner in which the crew handled asbestos roofing removal and replacement is highlighted as organised and professional. Customers also comment that the cost came in below other quotes they had received, without compromising the standard of the finish. Trustworthiness and a professional approach from the first contact to completion recur across the accounts, with one customer noting the result prompted further renovation work on the home. Roof replacements involving tile-to-metal conversions and guttering feature regularly in the comments.
