Tropic Roofing & Plumbing

Cairns Crane Hire was proud to work with the Tropic Roofing and Plumbing team on a recent roof sheet lift in Cairns. Excellent teamwork, communication, and safe operations made for a smooth and efficient day onsite.

Had a main water pipe burst late in the afternoon - not an ideal situation to come home to. The Tropic team promised to arrive within 30 minutes, and true to their word, they did. From the moment they arrived, they were courteous, professional, and efficient. They quickly put in a temporary fix to stop further damage and returned first thing the next morning to complete the repair properly. Really impressed with their responsiveness and high standard of service. Thank you, Tropic team!

Was very quick to respond and get the works done. Price was great and received the invoice promptly, definitely recommend and will use again.

My old Townsville house needed its roof upgraded to modern day cyclone standards AND there was a leak which needed fixing before the wet season arrived. This was a leak that had confounded all previous roofers. Everyone had put it in the too hard, too expensive basket until Michael and his Tropic Roofing team came on the job. They were terrific. A team of good communicators who knew their stuff, turned up on time, even on a Saturday, and sorted out my roof quick smart. I now have no leaks, full certification by the independent certifier as to the cyclone standards and a bill with no surprises. I couldn't be happier.

Requested a quote to replace the flashing on my roof, received the quote from Michael but he did not quote for what I had asked for. Reworked the quote, I was happy and asked him to do the work. First guy turned up and said he could not do it and the quote was not correct. Spoke to Michael again and he said he would honour the quote. Another guy turned up, had a look and then said it had been under quoted and he could cut out the middle man, he also left and did no work. Tried to get in touch with Michael, left messages on his answer service and no reply. Left a message for him that I would look elsewhere. All in, I found Tropic Roofing to be very unprofessional, should have taken more interest in the other reviews. Poor communication as well.

We had our roof replaced under the household resilience program, and because tropic roofing quote was the lowest we went with them. Really the work they did was average at best had to get them back several times to loosen screws and fix a few other issues. There has got to be better roofing company's in Townsville. Michael the owner doesn't respond very well to calls after he has the contract from you.. I hope the roof holds up because I don't expect this company to honour its 5 year workmanship warranty.. Buyer beware here really.. Good luck!!
